Save recurring Claude Code jobs in Aiola Automations. Choose a schedule, keep the desktop app open, and review each result.
Why schedule Claude Code?
Issue summaries, maintenance reviews, and documentation checks are prompts you can save. Aiola Automations keeps each job with its workspace, schedule, and run history. A workspace is one project. Open that history when a result needs follow-up.
Automations in Aiola
Open Automations in the workspace that owns the project. Create a job from scratch, or choose an in-app preset. The catalog covers task and release work, GitHub, monitoring, analytics, maintenance, documentation, security, performance, and product research. Use the presets shown in the app. Read the preset before you save the job.
Schedules are Daily, Weekdays, Weekly, Interval, Manual, or Custom RRULE. A job can be Active, Paused, or Disabled. All automations use the app wide timezone configured in Central Settings. Daily and weekday schedules use a time. Weekly schedules also pick weekdays. An interval schedule uses an hour interval. A manual automation has no automatic run.
Select an enabled provider and model for the job. Set that provider's reasoning level. Use Fast Mode when faster execution is supported. Configure the context window that retains context.
You can run the job with a saved workspace agent. The agent carries instructions, provider-compatible skills, and memory. Memory preserves agent-specific context. Agents are workspace-scoped. There is no Central Agents page.
Run mode is Local or Worktree. For a task, Local runs in the workspace checkout. Worktree runs in an isolated Git worktree. A task can override the workspace default. See the worktree guide for the thread execution choice.
Run a manual automation from its detail page. The page shows the next run, last run, and last result. It also shows run count, status, duration, output, and errors. Linked threads are listed on that page.
A prompt can mention files, tasks, agents, issues, and pull requests. It can also mention app logs, feedback, and the workspace. Open the linked thread when you want to inspect the run. The dashboard panel includes Review, Files, and Terminal.
Create a workspace task when the run needs follow-up. The task chat keeps that task's context. Moving a task to In Progress starts its configured agent workflow. Human Review and Create PR are later statuses. Moving a task to Create PR starts pull-request creation. Auto-create-PR can route a successful run to Create PR instead of Human Review. Project Settings, then Tasks, sets the default run mode for new tasks. The same settings control automatic PR creation. You can still change run mode on a single task.
Scheduled jobs run on your machine. The desktop app has to be open for a scheduled start. Central Home shows recent and upcoming automation activity. Central Calendar shows scheduled automations across workspaces. Editing stays on the workspace Automations page. A Central Automations page is not available. Manual automations do not generate recurring calendar events. Paused or disabled automations do not add active calendar runs.
Start with one reviewable automation
Write one maintenance prompt before you enable a recurring schedule. Ask it to list proposed dependency updates. Tell it not to edit, commit, or publish. Run that job once and read the output before you trust the schedule.
- Open the workspace Automations page and create the job.
- Choose Claude Code and an enabled model.
- Read the workspace agent's instructions if you attach one.
- Set run mode to Local or Worktree.
- Choose Manual, then run the job from its detail page.
- Read the output, errors, duration, and linked thread.
- Edit the prompt if the result is wrong. Then pick a recurring schedule and check the app wide timezone in Central Settings.
Repeat the manual run after you change the provider, agent, or scope. The Automations docs list the schedule and execution fields.
Safety checklist before enabling the schedule
- Name the files or records the prompt should inspect. Name the output you expect.
- State whether edits, commits, or publication are allowed.
- Confirm the workspace, the saved instructions, and the agent's skills.
- Confirm Local or Worktree before the first scheduled start.
- Open Central Settings, then Providers. Confirm the CLI is installed and authenticated.
- An installed provider cannot be enabled until it is authenticated.
- The Providers page shows install state, version, authentication, and discovered models.
- Aiola does not accept provider API keys on that page.
- Authenticate the CLI in a terminal. Re-check reads the local authentication state.
- Confirm the app wide timezone in Central Settings. Leave the desktop app open.
- Read run history, errors, and the linked thread before you accept changes.
- Set the job to Paused while you edit it.
Multiple providers in one workspace
Aiola supports six agent CLIs. They are Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok CLI, OpenCode, and Antigravity. Each automation selects its own enabled provider and model. One job can use Claude Code for an issue summary. Another job in that workspace can use Codex for a maintenance review. Give each job its own prompt and schedule. Both use your own provider access. Aiola adds no token markup.
Reuse a workspace agent when its instructions fit the job. Selected skills must share a compatible provider. Shared skills can retain multiple provider choices. One CLI session cannot load skills from different providers. Remove all selected skills before you switch provider families.
Tasks, automations, agents, and Notebook remain local app features. Notes are stored under aiola/notes/. Task files and automation files are local workspace files.
Confirm each CLI under Central Settings, then Providers. Run a new automation manually before you assign a recurring schedule.
If you want cron or CI instead
Choose cron or CI when you want a scheduler outside the desktop app. Aiola keeps the prompt, provider, agent, schedule, and run history with the workspace. A scheduled Aiola run still needs the desktop app open.
Try it in Aiola
Download Aiola free for macOS 12 or later and Windows 10 or later. Open Automations in your workspace and run one job manually before setting a schedule.
